Searching For Teh Prince~

Paige searched around, looking for Belphegor. She wanted to thank him for helping her the other day and apologize for being a total bitch. At that point, the girl's conversation with Mira in detention echoed through her mind. She shook the thought from her head and continued her search, denying to herself that there was anything going on between her and Bel. Well, we all know what they say, the first stage is denial.

Bel was smiling while leaning against a tree, holding out a brown, messanger bag.

"Looking for me~?" He asked.

Paige didn't have to turn, knowing the voice, but did anyways, coming face to face with Belphegor. "Actually I was."

"Princess," He said, walking over to her with the brown bag left with him in the warehous over his shoulder. "What is it you want your Prince for~?" He asked with one of his grins and a mockery of a bow.

Paige would address his two comments after she thanked him and apologized. "I wanted to say thank you for helping me and to apologize for being such a bitch before..." She scratched her right shoulder before her arm went back to her side, unaware that her sweater had slipped off her shoulder, revealing the bandages wrapping the stab wound.

Bel's hand dropped the bag holding Paige's weapon upon seeing the mark. He moved her sweater aside more while gripping her shoulder to get a better look.

An unfamiliar look of anger crossing his features. "I should have cut him to pieces while he still had life left in him . . ." He muttered darkly under his breath, losing himself more than usual.

Paige winced at the tight grip he had on her shoulder before she tried pulling away."Ow. Fuck, chill it still hurts."

Bel let go quickly, catching himself while looking out at Paige, gaining his smug grin once again. "Sorry, doll, I have my loose moments~" He tried brushing off.

"So how is my Princess doing~?"

"Stop with the Princess thing already. I hate it. Seriously. Also, I don't belong to anyone." She stared at Bel with a bored look.

"But I bought you a tiara~" He said while pulling out (from who-knows-WHERE) a tiara with saphire stones embroided in them.

The girl glared at him and deadpanned. "NO. Never happening. EVER. I'd rather wear a skirt than wear that...thing. And that means something coming from me." If anyone knew Paige, they'd know that she hated shiny things (unless it had to do with powertools or her motorcycle in which case she adored chrom anything), skirts and dresses. Hell, the girl even hated wearing too much make-up(eye-liner being the only make-up she'd touch so long as it was black, lime-green or dark purple). It made her feel....pretty, a feeling she didn't like.

Bel tossed the thing aside. "No likey~? I'll have another made to your preference~" He then thought for a moment and picked up the brown bag on the floor. "Ah, yes, the dragon had this. Said it belonged to you or something." Before handing it to her he looked her up and down. "And there's nothing wrong with being pretty."

Paige half-glared at Bel. "Listen and listen good. I. am. not. going. to. wear. a. fucking. tiara." She looked at the bag and opened it. The brunette knew that she should have recognized the bag from the warehouse but didn't and so when she saw then knives, the bag slipped from her hands and fell to the ground, her taking a shaky step backwards and away from them.

Bel tossed the tiara aside (he only got it to get Paige angry; a mode which he thought so adorable) and rushed over to Paige.

"Princess? Is something the matter?" He asked, both worried and intruiged by her reaction to the contents of the bag which he cared not for.

Paige didn't say a word, she just stared at the knives that were now scattered on the ground infront of her. She knew that there were twenty-nine of them because the last one was back at the school in Shamal's office.

"No!" Belphegor growled, grabbing Paige by the shoulders. "Don't you dare retract into your head! Tell me what's wrong, dammit!"

Paige looked at Bel as he grabbed her by her shoulders. She shunk back slightly as he yelled and also because he was squeesing her right shoulder where the stab wound was. Her eyes were dirented at the ground, and she looked as if she were searching for something, more than likely, something to say.

"Don't keep me out!" He pressed, his voice falling into a soft tone at his next words. "You don't have to hide in there, please. I . . . can't stand seeing you like this. Frozen . . . quiet . . . not yelling at me."

His hands fell to his side and clenched. "This isn't you."

Bel looked back at her, taking her face in his hands delicately. "Come on, you can do it. Tell your Prince what he needs to do to take away your hurting."

He'd never been this delicate. Ever. But something inside our otherwise ripping prince who is known as Prince the Ripper stirred at seeing Paige in this state.

"I...the knives....I can't..." Her words weren't making any sense at all. "Since...the first time...I haven't been able...to..face knives very well, especially....my own. I mean....I.." Paige trailled of, breaking the eye contact between her and Bel.

Normally Bel would have dangerously pressed the subject as he had last time.

But this time was different.

This time was-

No. He couldn't focus on that right now what with the girl whose face he cupped so delicately in his hands. (Bel? Delicate? Such new things our Prince has become!)

He leaned his forehead against hers, revealing the same eyes he kept hidden from the world.

"Don't worry," He murmered. "I won't let anything happen to you."

Paige's eyes rose to meet Bel's - which were normally hidded - when his forehead touched hers. "Bel...I..you don't get what it's like...to trust something with your life....and then...have it used against you..." She wanted to explain it to him; to explain how it hurt, how she was scared, how she thought she would die and at some points, wanted to.

Bel moved so that their noses touched.

"You're right," He had no problem admitting but there was a guilt inside of him, so small it wasn't worthy of aknowledging, that came from him being the victimizer in such a situation. "I don't. But you've been put to hang on an edge, and from the moment I saw you I knew I wanted to save you and make you mine. Tell me what happened and I can,"

Paige's eyes remained locked with Belphegor's. "Why...?" Was the light question that passed her lips. "I'm not worth saving, I... don't want saving... so why?" The last part of her sentence was denial, to herself more than to him. The truth being that she did want to be 'saved' as Bel had put it, but was afraid that she'd end up hurt in some other way.
